In this concert, audiences will experience the many facets of percussion—from the earthy, folk-inspired Tuyang Sit in the Corner (adapted from Bornean melodies), to the lively Indonesian-inspired Aiyo… Mama!, and the explosive contemporary piece Charge. Classic works such as Flying Dragons and Leaping Tigers and the third movement of Yiu Kwong Chung’s Percussion Concerto seamlessly blend drumming’s majestic power with rich symphonic textures.
